I really want to play but I don't have my own team?
No problem! You can sign up as an individual or with a friend and we will add you to a team of other friendly individuals like yourselves! We take all the stress out of social sports, so all you have to do is turn up and have fun!
Are the Leagues Mixed or Mens?
SportUP social and intermediate Leagues are open to all players over 18.
‘Social’ leagues are ‘open’ meaning both male and female players can enter – We have mostly mixed teams but men’s teams are also welcome to enter.
‘Intermediate’ leagues are also ‘open’ – We have mostly men’s teams but mixed are also welcome to enter.

What is the difference between Intermediate and social leagues?
The ‘Social’ leagues are perfect if you haven’t played in a while or want to play with mixed and social teams.
The ‘Intermediate’ league is best suited if you have played a bit of soccer before and are looking to play at a slightly higher level.
Please note both competitions are social so the main aim is to have fun, if you are super competitive and play to win at all costs then this probably isn’t the right league for you.
Both competitions are open so you can enter any combination of male and female players in your team. In general most Mixed teams play in the ‘Social’ leagues.
What happens after I join as an individual player?
You will be put in a team with other individual players.
1 week before the social Backyard Cricket league Sunshine Coast starts, you will be sent a confirmation email with your new team and first game time.
If the league has already started and there are spots available then you can start that week.

What if I'm a beginner player?
You have come to the right place!
All our games are social so no one takes it too seriously. Our friendly referees can help explain the basic rules at the start of each game, and most of the players will be happy to encourage and help you with your technique :)
How much does it cost and whats included?
Team fees are $1068 per season and individual players are $210 per season.
This provides a 12 week season with referees and prizes for the Grand Final winners and runners up.
What time and location are the games?
We play social Indoor Backyard Cricket at Buderim. You can find directions here.
In addition games are 45mins and game times will be between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.
We play at the same venue every week and you can check your game time anytime on the website here. – Select Fixtures then your competition
What skill level will my team be?
Skill levels can vary from team to team, we will try to keep it as even as possible so everyone has a great experience.
If you are really worried about the skill level get in touch with your experience and I can let you know if our competition will be suitable for you.
What happens if I have 2 or 3 friends but not enough for a team?
If you don’t have enough players for a team you can enter with friends and we can make sure you are on the same team.
We operate on a first come first served basis so just enrol together or send Paul a message and he can make sure you are all placed together :)
Why doesn't SportUP offer insurance?
Essentially because you get a better deal with private health cover. A club wide policy would require you to be insured for the whole year rather than just for the length of the league so it would increase registration prices.
Plus as a blanket policy it would provide only very limited cover of up to specific amounts e.g. $20 off first few Physio appointments. If you don’t have a medicare card or private health cover we recommend you take out a personal accident or injury policy.
Whilst SportUP aims to provide a safe and fun place to play sport, accidents do happen so make sure you know what you are covered for with your insurance.
What happens if I can't make it one week?
Indoor Backyard Cricket Sunshine Coast is designed to be social and fun but we know sometimes you have other commitments! So as long as you let us know 48hrs in advance, as a result we can usually find a replacement player, so your team will never have to play short ;)
What is the refund policy?
If you don’t enjoy your first game you can get a full 100% refund. Just email [email protected] within 24hrs from your first game.
After that 24hrs there is no refund, however please let me know if you are unable to play and I can try and find a replacement player so your team won’t have to play short.
Is there a list of rules for the League?
