Friday 12th June, 2020 Update

Hey everyone, we come with good news!

We would like to thank all of you again for the amazing support over the last three months, the amount of messages we have received from you guys is just awesome! So thank you!

Following stage 3 government guidelines, we are pleased to share we will commence our sports season on:

Planned restart date: Monday 20th July, 2020.

We will keep you posted on what this will look like. In the interim, take time to get in touch with your team and if you need to get the ball out and start practising – this gives you a couple of weeks to get your form back ;)

Hope you all have been keeping safe, happy and healthy over the last few months.

We look forward to seeing all your smiling faces back on the court and field in July!

Friday 8th May, 2020 Update

Hey guys, firstly I would like to thank all the players and teams for all the lovely and supportive messages we have received.

We really do appreciate it and we are missing all of our amazing teams.

We have been monitoring the Government guidelines and the good news is the restrictions are beginning to ease so hopefully this means we can come back soon.

In the meantime all SportUP Competitions will remain paused until Friday June 12th

We will have another update for you on Friday June 12th.

We hope that all of you are keeping fit and healthy during this time ready for when we do restart.

If you are feeling a bit stiff or haven’t been moving much lately.

Melodie has created a FREE 30 Day ‘Yoga with Dogs’ Challenge for you to help get you warmed up and ready for games again.

You can join the challenge here.

Enjoy and stay safe!

Friday 3rd April, 2020

Hey guys, 2 weeks ago we paused all of our competitions, and boy do we feel completely lost without you all!

You are what drives us every day and makes SportUP the type of place that we all enjoy so much.

At the request of the government, all sports and competitions will remain on hold for the time being so:

SportUP Competitions are paused until Friday 8th May.

We are regularly checking for updates and we will let you know as soon as we can reopen.

In the meantime, we will have another update for you on Friday May 8th.

When we paused our competitions, thousands of you paused with us.

And the guarantee is this, when the restrictions lift and the venues reopen.

You and your team will get to play out the rest of your season without having to miss any games :)

Missing your teammates? Don’t wait for our next whistle to talk to them!

Whilst competitions are paused, we are running daily online beginner yoga classes for free for all SportUP members.

Every morning at 7.30am we have a watch party in our Facebook group that you and your teammates can join:
www.facebook.com/groups/dogayoga/

Look after yourselves and we look forward to seeing your smiling faces at games again in the near future.

Take care, from all of us at SportUP – Paul, Sam, Melodie and Zhee

Friday 20th March, 2020

Dear SportUP Members,

Today, I have had to make the really tough decision to pause all SportUP Competitions until the 3rd April.

We have been overwhelmed by support from our amazing teams wishing to support us during these historical times.

This was a very difficult decision that has been thrust upon us and the rest of Australia very quickly but we feel that this is the best decision for our whole community.

Our mission is to help people play sport for fun so above all, we care that our community is healthy and happy.

As such, SportUP Competitions will be PAUSED until the 3rd of April 2020.

We will reassess the situation and send an email update to all teams on 3rd April, with a planned restart for all competitions from Monday 6th April.

Please note these games are on pause and not cancelled, you will still be playing a full 12 week season so you definitely won’t miss out on any games.

All Autumn Competition (next season) start dates have been pushed back to accommodate the pause.

This is an ever changing and fast moving situation that is affecting every one of us and our loved ones.

We will be closely monitoring recommendations from the Department of Health (Australian Government) and QLD Health every day.

You can find regular updates from us here: www.sportup.com.au/updates/

Needless to say we are deeply saddened by the news that we will not be seeing your smiling, happy faces at games each night!

Sport is a great release and with people stressed about the current climate, it is possibly needed now more than ever so we will endeavour to do our best to help you get playing again as soon as conditions permit.

As a small business owner I sincerely hope that teams can understand the very difficult position that all small businesses are in both within Australia and the wider sporting community.

A special thanks to all our teams for their continued support and for your concerns about the future of SportUP games.

The support we have received has been very inspiring and we encourage everyone to help each other out during this time.

Pay any kindness you receive forward to your teammates, your neighbour and the people working in any business that is affected.

We are really proud to have such an awesome little community to help everyone get through this together.

Sam from SportUP
